It’s time to close another Fiddler on the Roof!
It’s been a pleasure being in Phoenix for the first time to once again serve as Associate Choreographer and Dance Captain under Staś Kmieć, where we restaged Jerome Robbins’ timeless choreography and staging.
The reviews were across-the-board enthusiastic.
If you aren’t aware, I spent two years performing this choreography in the world renowned Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish off-Broadway, simultaneously making my principal acting debut in New York City.
Since then, I’ve now gone on to restage the same choreography as Associate Choreographer and perform as Dance Captain. I’m first involved in the casting and audition process, then we go one to teach the staging and choreography to the cast. After that, I work with the Stage Manager to maintain the integrity of the show and also help in the rehearsal and direction of all the understudies.
Even while performing in 7 shows a week with rehearsals on top of that, I managed to stay in shape with ballet classes, film auditions, and attend my acting class on east coast time on my day off!
After some guest teaching once I return to New York I’ll end the summer as I start up rehearsals for the coming season at The Metropolitan Opera.
