We open at the Metropolitan Opera tonight!
This is a revival production that I remember seeing on PBS after college. I loved a lot of the music and it’s the same composer as the Can-Can music; Offenbach.
The production is directed by Bartlett Sher, a prolific Broadway director.
We run 7 performance until Oct 18, one of which will be streamed live in movie theaters across the world as part of the HD series on October 5th.

In the dance world, we say merde, for good luck, which means shit in French. Toi toi toi or in bocca al luppo are also used in opera, the last one meaning in the mouth of the wolf, referring to the view of the opera house from the stage.
